Here’s a short list of odd jobs I can do for people, without ever leaving my desk:
- Convert line art to vector (for enamel pin production, for example)
- Create a repeating pattern in Illustrator (very useful for print-on-demand fabrics, wrapping paper, or wallpaper at Spoonflower)
- Prepare a 1500-3000 word research packet on very nearly any topic for writers of fiction and non-fiction, complete with bibliography (but I will not do students’ homework for them)
- Type 80 words per minute and transcribe audio and/or video
- Scan and digitally restore family photographs
- Take professional product shots of hand-made items, jewellery, collectibles, etc. for etsy or ebay sales
- Fabricate printed props and miniatures for cosplay, short films, commercials, or photoshoots
- Digitally composite you, your sister, your dog, etc. into existing photographs, all new backgrounds, or re-create famous film posters or magazine covers for weddings, anniversaries, bat mitzvahs or tee-shirts (non-commercial use only)
- Find that one thing, only for a lot less (especially wholesale from China)
- Find that one discontinued thing, via etsy, ebay, and Craigslist
- Kitbash a 12″ fashion doll or action figure based on your gaming character
- Identify a typeface, or find one closest to a hand-lettered sign
- Design business cards, letterhead, and other collateral for your home-based business
- Clean and/or restore vinyl dolls and stuffed toys
- Source fabrics, trim, and other craft supplies
- Lay out souvenir photo books for weddings, family reunions, etc.
- Create or curate wedding favours, convention table gifts, souvenirs, and other keepsakes
In short, there’s a lot of the weird stuff I’m good at, and I’d like to do it for you. It’s like being a combination private investigator, fixer, and personal search engine, and I keep crazy odd hours and won’t rest til everybody’s got what they were looking for.
